An Unfiltered Moment: Stuck, Tired, and Trying Anyway

Lately, I’ve been blanking.
Like... really blanking. Stuck. Unmotivated. Tired. Frozen. All the things not fueling me to reach for my goals.
And I keep asking myself—what is this?
Am I trying to figure everything out all at once? Am I overwhelmed? Overstimulated? Underwhelmed? Even trying to reconnect with my “why” feels... uninteresting.
Honestly, I don’t have a magic solution. But I’m in the thick of it. And instead of waiting for this weird fog to pass—one day after the next, one glorious nap after another—I’m choosing to word-vomit onto this page.
Because that, at least, is something.
🌿 When You Expect Too Much of Yourself
I’ve noticed this happens when I expect too much from myself. When I set these enormous goals and hope for grand, unrealistic outcomes.
And when life doesn’t deliver those sparkly results overnight? I kind of just... shut down. Welp. What now?
In these moments, I try to remember the same advice I’d give someone else:
Give yourself grace.
Like my boyfriend always says—“This is a marathon, not a sprint.” Even though I really, really wish everything could be a sprint.
🖋 The Power of Just Writing It Down (Even Messily)
When I feel like this, the only thing that helps? Writing it down. No plan, no outline, just pure brain-dump energy.
A journal, a Word doc, the Notes app on your phone—it doesn’t matter where. Getting the thoughts out helps clear the mental noise and shake off the weight of all those unrealistic expectations.
It grounds you. It softens the tension between who you are and who you think you “should” be. It brings you back from your big, beautiful dreams (which you’ll absolutely achieve, by the way) to what you need right now.
🌼 Grace, Clarity, and a Little Self-Honesty
Writing—even messily—helps you check in with yourself. It’s a quiet kind of honesty.A chance to say, “Hey, I see you. Let’s slow down a second.”
It gives you clarity on the moment. It helps you feel what you need. And sometimes, that’s everything.
Sometimes you just need to blow off some steam—like taking the kettle off the stove—before you can return to your goals with a clearer, calmer mind.
💛 I’m Still Figuring It Out Too
I’m not perfect. I don’t have it all figured out. But I’m starting to notice what my body and mind need. I’m learning what helps me come back to myself.
And maybe—just maybe—sharing this can help you find your way back too. To clarity. To your “why.” To grace.
Because this fog doesn’t last forever. And on the other side of it? There’s usually a little more softness, a little more self-trust, and a new kind of motivation—the quiet kind that doesn’t push, but gently pulls you forward.
One messy, beautiful word at a time. One step, one breath, one journal entry at a time.
